This sister of mine deserves to be bragged about. It's not her birthday or a special occasion, BUT WE SHOULD CELEBRATE MOLLY DAY EVERY DAY (isn't it so cool that her last name is day???) BECAUSE SHE'S SERIOUSLY THAT RAD. So please enjoy this obnoxiously long slideshow full of embarrassing old pictures, pictures that make me laugh and pictures that are just happy.
I've known Molly from the day she was born (which literally makes me feel 948 years old) and so we've been sisters forever. Some of my fondest memories in life have Molly in them. We've been on vacations together, gone to church camp together, fought through our awkward stages together (that's the real deal folks), gone to the same church since we were both infants and have been on countless adventures together. She's my sister and she's just the most wonderful one ever.
I remember I used to pray A LOT for a little sister when I was younger. In fact, I specifically remember going on Target's website and making a wishlist full of baby things for my baby sister (that was nonexistent)....needless to say, my mom said no. BUT, I kept praying. And God (in His perfect response) DID GIVE ME A SISTER. Not like a newborn sister because Molly was like 8 when we got super close (shoutout to the Arkansas float trip where we almost died but it's fine), but God ANSWERED MY PRAYER NONETHELESS. She was the little sister I had prayed for and she was (and still is) the perfect answer to my prayer.
So let me brag about my sister really quick because that's a big sister's job right???? I am obviously a tad biased about her, but for real I think most people would agree with what I am about to say. Molly has been, is, and will be a world-changer. She reaches people, loves people and cares for people in such an outrageously beautiful way. She has always been someone who is so sociable and truly speaks with people in a loving, compassionate way. She makes people feel loved without conditional statements. She doesn't judge by appearance or history or age, she just simply loves. She brings this contagious, radical love to the world that just gives the world a big hug. For some reason when I think of Molly I think of a batch of chocolate chip cookies pulled straight from the oven (is that a weird analogy? probably but roll with me). She's warm-spirited and inviting. She invites people to be with her and to be included. I've seen her change people's lives through her kindness because her kindness is genuine. It's a kindness that kind of rocks the world a little bit because you're not sure if it's really real: but with Molly it is. She's the real deal. She has this heart that I'm pretty certain is actually covered in gold. It is a heart of pure, genuine, strong love. She serves people in kindness and leads with love on a DAILY basis. AND OH MY GOSH she is so dang talented. Like talented in so many ways, I'm talking like Adele style talented (that's a big comparison I know, but it's true I promise). She has a voice that will make you sob hysterically (ask anyone and they'll agree). But she's talented in so many other ways. She's talented in serving, loving, giving and speaking. She is strong and brave and is a fighter. She is bold and genuine.
I love Molly for all of those reasons listed above and for a thousand more. I love that she is my sister in the purest definition of the word. She has walked through life with me. Life that has looked rocky at points for both of us and life that has involved happy dancing and skipping. The most beautiful thing about having a sister is that they walk with you regardless of where life takes you. Whether you walk with them on your back or you on theirs because life is hard, or you just hold hands knowing that life is good and it's awesome to have a sister (and a whole clan of sisters-shout out to all of my sisters) who just celebrates with you. We've cried together, laughed together (until we've almost peed our pants thousands of times), been through awkward stages together (I'm talking graphic tees and mirror selfies people, the actual awkward stages), shout-screamed together, shared meals together, trick-or-treated together, sang together, danced (crazily) together (even made a music video together) and just been together. Seriously sisterhood is the best.
I am constantly amazed by my sister and I look up to her in so many ways. I'm encouraged and inspired by her. I have literally said on numerous occasions, "I want to be Molly when I grow up." and I mean it 100% except when she sings "me duele la cabeza" 9783678326 million times, but other than that I mean it (hehehe). I know she will change the world. I'm 100% certain God has this enormous love-filled, world-shaking plan for her that will make everyone else sit back and say, "Woah". And I'll sit back (with her family and friends) and say, "yeah, that's my sister".
Love your sister(s) today. Sisterhood is the best.
Sincerely,
Me
